The country wide cumulative rainfall deficiency has come down to 13%. Heavy showers in North and Northeast contributed significantly to bring down the deficiency figure.
Jammu and Kashmir received torrential rains during last 24 to 48 hours. Flood-like situation cannot be ruled out over the state. The low pressure area over Northwest India travelled across Punjab, Haryana and merged with the Western Disturbance. This weather system is now moving towards the western Himalayas. By tomorrow rainfall intensity will decrease significantly over the hills. With this Punjab, Haryana and Delhi will also witness dry weather conditions.
Heavy showers are likely over Northeast India, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal in view of the low pressure area over the region. Rest of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand will receive scattered rains.
The trough extending from Andhra Pradesh across Tamil Nadu will bring light rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Clear skies over North and Central India will lead to rise in maximums. In Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and most parts of Maharashtra temperatures will be in mid-thirties. Day temperatures will be nearing forties in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
