Weather Forecast for Sep 7: More rain in offing for Bengaluru, Hyderabad; Mumbai to remain dry

A Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, an induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan. Therefore, scattered light rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Punjab. Isolated rain is also likely over parts of Delhi, Haryana and North Rajasthan.

Moving to east and northeast regions, the axis of Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas. In wake of this, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are possible over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, light rain may occur over Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. One or two good spells are also expected over Odisha.

Coming to Central India, a trough is extending from Odisha up to South Tamil Nadu. Due to this, light to moderate rains are likely over Chhattisgarh, parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha. Scattered showers are also expected over East Madhya Pradesh.

The weather over Gujarat, South Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will remain mostly dry.

Down south, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Rayalaseema and adjoining areas. With this, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are possible over Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka, whereas scattered light to moderate showers are expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South interior Karnataka, karalla and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Talking about major cities of India, Bengaluru and Hyderabad may record light to moderate rains, while Chennai and Kolkata would witness light Monsoon showers.
