Weather Forecast for Sep 4: Good rain in Assam, Northeast; dry weather in Delhi

Beginning with north first, a feeble Western Disturbance is seen over northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, light rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, while parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive light to moderate showers.

Due to northwesterly winds, dry weather will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. However, isolated light rains cannot be ruled out.
Coming to Central India, scattered showers are likely over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh. The weather of West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and South Rajasthan will remain dry with one or two spells of light intensity.

Moving to east and northeast regions, rains will reduce over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, however light showers are possible over Uttar Pradesh, while light to moderate rains are likely over parts of Bihar.

A trough is extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Tamil Nadu along with a cyclonic circulation is seen over Assam. As a result, light to moderate rains are possible over West Bengal, parts of Odisha and northeastern states. One or two heavy spells are also likely over the state of Assam.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down south, with the presence of an off shore trough along the east coast, light to moderate rains may occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. While rainfall activity over the West Coast will remain subdued with scattered rains over Konkan and goa and Coastal Karnataka.

With the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Comorin area, few good spells of rain may occur over Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and adjoining parts of Kerala.
