Weather Forecast for Sep 4: Good Monsoon rains in Chennai, Kolkata, Odisha, West Bengal

A fresh cyclonic circulation has developed in North Bay of Bengal. A north-south trough is also seen extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal up to North Coastal Tamil Nadu across this circulation and along the East Coast. With this, moderate to heavy rains may occur over Sikkim, West Bengal including Kolkata, and Odisha. Light to moderate showers are also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu including Chennai on Sunday.

The axis of Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas, giving scattered rain over East Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, while isolated rains may occur over foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Moving down, the feeble off-shore trough continue to extend along the West Coast, giving scattered light to moderate rains over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala. Now with the trough running on either side of Coast, scattered light rains are expected over several parts of interiors Peninsular India on Sunday. Light to moderate rains are also expected over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and parts of Telangana.

Meanwhile, entire Northwest India including Delhi will witness mainly dry weather conditions, leading to increase in day temperatures. Thus we can expect warm days ahead but mornings and nights will be pleasant as northwesterly winds will reduce the levels of humidity.
