Weather Forecast for Sep 3: Rain in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Northeast India

A Western Disturbance can be seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. Along with this, the western arm of axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas. Thus, light to moderate rains are expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. One or two places may receive heavy rains. Meanwhile, patchy rains are expected over plains of North India including Delhi whereas West Rajasthan will remain dry.

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is over Northeast Bihar. Also, a trough is extending from Bihar up to Coastal Odisha. Along with this, the axis of Monsoon trough is also extending up to Manipur across Bihar, North West Bengal and Assam.

Thus, moderate to heavy rains with isolated very heavy showers are expected over sub Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya while moderate showers will continue over rest of Northeast India. Good showers will also occur over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha Coast.

Moving to Central India, dry weather is expected over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat while light rains may occur over Chhattisgarh, South Gujarat Coast.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

A Feeble trough is extending along the West Coast from South Konkan up to Kerala Coast. Another trough is also extending from Andhra Pradesh to Gulf of Mannar. In view of this, moderate showers are likely over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Coastal Karnataka while scattered light rains are expected over rest of the areas.

Talking about the metro cities, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai may witness light to moderate rains while patchy light rains may occur over Delhi and Mumbai.
