Weather Forecast for Sep 3: Heavy rains in UP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Northeast

A fresh cyclonic circulation can be seen over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand, while the Monsoon trough will continue to run along the foothills of Himalayas.

Good Monsoon showers also expected over parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Parts of northeastern states and Chhattisgarh may witness scattered light to moderate rains. Rain intensity is also expected to increase over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. However, rains will reduce over Madhya Pradesh.

Moderate to heavy with isolated very heavy rains are expected over Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya.

The Western Disturbance is moving across North Jammu and Kashmir. With this, scattered light rain is expected over few parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Uttarakhand may also witness some moderate showers.

Mainly dry and warm weather will prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Gujarat. In wake of this, day temperatures are expected to rise over these areas.

Down south, the feeble off-shore trough continues to run across Coastal Karnataka up to Kerala. A cyclonic circulation is also seen over Maldives and adjoining Lakshadweep region.

This system will enhance the rain activity over Kerala during next 24 to 48 hours. Meanwhile interior parts of Peninsula India may receive light rains only.
