Weather Forecast for Sep 28: Rain in West Bengal, Kerala; Mercury to rise in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana

Starting with northwestern parts of the country, dry North Westerly Winds are continuing over most parts of the region. Therefore, dry and sunny weather is expected to continue over the northern plains of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR. Alongwith this, day temperature may see a marginal rise.

Heading towards the Central Part of the country. An anti-cyclone is persisting over Gujarat region, therefore weather of Gujarat and West Rajasthan will be dry and hot, with mercury reaching 40-degree mark over few places. Simultaneously, Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha will also experience dry and warm weather with clear sky.

Whereas, scattered rains are likely over southern parts of Chhattisgarh, South Madhya Maharashtra and South Konkan & Goa. Both day and night temperatures are expected to settle near normal.
Moving towards the southern part of the country, a cyclonic circulation is marked over Southwest Bay of Bengal and an east-west trough is seen extending from Southeast Arabian Sea to Southwest Bay of Bengal. With this, light to moderate rains can be expected over some parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Southern districts of Telangana may also receive few spells of rain. However, rains will remain subdued over South Tamil Nadu.

Lastly, in the eastern part of the country, a north-south trough is extending from Bihar to North Bay of Bengal, leading to scattered rains over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Humid winds over Bay of Bengal would now increase rains over northeastern states, particularly over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Bihar, Jharkhand and rest of the north eastern states may receive rainfall over isolated areas. However, eastern part of Uttar Pradesh will experience dry weather. There will be a marginal increase in temperature in East UP and Bihar.
