The deep depression in west-central Bay of Bengal had intensified into a cyclonic storm on Thursday night and crossed the Odisha coast. The system that continues to be over Odisha is now weakening.
With this, Odisha will continue with heavy to very heavy rains. Adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana including Hyderabad would also see moderate to heavy showers.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain would be seen in Karnataka including Bengaluru, Rayalseema, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Simultaneously, West Bengal including Kolkata, Sikkim, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh will see light to moderate spells.
The rainfall intensity may pick up speed over the northeastern states during the next 24 hours.
Furthermore, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha will get moderate to heavy showers, whereas light to moderate rains are expected in rest of Maharashtra. The impact of this system would also be seen over eastern districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat that would see scattered rainfall.

After prolonged dry spell, rains will again commence over West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, East Haryana and East Punjab. However, West Rajasthan will remain dry.
Meanwhile, North Tamil Nadu including Chennai and parts of Kerala would have isolated activities.
