Weather Forecast for Sep 21: Mumbai Rains to reduce; Rain in Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata

Let’s start with Central India weather conditions first, a low pressure area is seen over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. The axis of Monsoon trough also passes from North Rajasthan to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Thus, moderate to heavy rains are likely over Madhya Pradesh and parts of Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Scattered rains are also possible over eastern districts of Rajasthan as well as Gujarat.

Moving to Southern region, the cyclonic circulation over North Coastal Maharashtra has become insignificant. So, the ongoing heavy showers over Mumbai and adjoining areas will reduce significantly, but Konkan and Goa and parts of Madhya Maharashtra will settle with scattered rains.

Light to moderate rains are possible over parts of Coastal Karnataka, whereas Kerala and Coastal Andhra Pradesh will see light showers. The weather over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana will remain dry.

Coming to east and northeast side, parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will record light rains.

Meanwhile, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will witness one or two moderate spells. Northeastern states will settle with scattered rains. Light rain is also likely over parts of Odisha.

Up in North, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Therefore, the weather will remain dry over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Isolated rains may occur over Uttarakhand and Haryana.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely over West Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about the weather over major cities of India, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata will witness light rains, whereas Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai will remain dry. Lucknow may observe mod to heavy showers.
