Weather Forecast for Sep 21: Monsoon rains in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai; hot day in Delhi

We have reached the last leg of Monsoon and the cumulative rainfall deficiency has mounted to 5%. By seeing then trend, we can expect that Monsoon will end on the lower side of normal rains.

For the time being, let’s take a look at the weather forecast for tomorrow. The cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal will move gradually to the west, lying over Telangana and adjoining Marathwada region. Rain intensity is expected to increase over Telangana, Marathwada, South Madhya Maharashtra and parts of Rayalaseema.

A trough from the circulation is extending up to North Tamil Nadu. Therefore, light rains are expected over few places of North Tamil Nadu including Chennai.

Another cyclonic circulation is lying over South Gujarat. It will give good showers over southern parts of Gujarat and Konkan and Goa. Scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka and rest of Maharashtra.

A cyclonic circulation over Northeastern states will become less marked but we expect good rains along the foothills of Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

Scattered rains will continue over Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata.

In Central India, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue to receive scattered rainfall activities.

Tomorrow, Delhi will remain mainly dry. Kolkata and Mumbai could receive moderate showers.
