Weather Forecast for Sep 19: Heavy rain in Mumbai; Good rain over Hyderabad, Madhya Pradesh, UP

A feeble Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. Also, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.

Therefore, the weather will continue to remain mainly dry over entire northwestern plains including Delhi.

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region. With this, light to moderate rains may occur over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Light rains are possible over East Uttar Pradesh and Gangetic West Bengal.

Due to the presence of this cyclonic circulation, moderate rain with one or two spells of heavy showers may occur over parts of East and South Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

Scattered light showers may also occur over West Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat.

An East west trough is seen extending from Konkan & Goa region. Also, an offshore trough is seen running from South Konkan up to Karnataka. With this, heavy to very heavy rains are possible over Konkan & Goa region.

Light to moderate showers are likely over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala, a few parts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light rains are also expected over Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

Talking about major cities of India, Mumbai may receive heavy rains. Hyderabad will witness moderate rains. Chennai and Kolkata will see light rains, whereas Bengaluru and Delhi will remain mainly dry.
