Weather Forecast for Sep 11: Rain in Karnataka, Kerala, Assam, Himachal

Let’s start with South India weather conditions first, yesterday cyclonic circulation over Southeast Arabian Sea has moved and is now marked over south central Arabian Sea. Moreover, an east-west trough can be seen extending from this circulation up to South Tamil Nadu.

Therefore, rainfall activity will decrease over the region. However, South Karnataka, Kerala and western parts of Tamil Nadu will record light rains with few moderate spells.

Due to moist southerly winds, scattered light showers may occur over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North Karnataka.

Coming to Central India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over South Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha. With this, light rains with one or two moderate spells are likely over South Madhya Pradesh, North Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha. Scattered light showers are also possible over Chhattisgarh, parts of Gujarat and Konkan.

Moving to east and northeast regions, the axis of Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas. Two cyclonic circulation can be seen, one over Northeast Bihar and the other over East Assam.

In addition, a north-south trough also extends from North Bihar up to North Bay of Bengal.

Due to this, moderate to heavy rains are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Meanwhile, rest of northeastern states will witness light to moderate showers.

Scattered light rain and thundershowers are also possible over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and North Odisha. These areas may also witness isolated moderate showers.

Up in North, a Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, scattered light rains are possible over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and western parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

An anti-cyclone persists over Rajasthan. Moreover, dry northwesterly winds are blowing across northwestern plains. Thus dry weather will continue over the region and temperatures will continue to rise further but isolated thunderclouds cannot be ruled out.
