Northeast Monsoon has finally made onset over Tamil Nadu and other parts of Peninsular India.
The low pressure area in Southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu coast is responsible for ushering in the Monsoon over the region.
With the commencement of the Northeast Monsoon, we can expect good showers over Tamil Nadu and coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, with few places recording heavy rainfall as well. While, Kerala and Karnataka will continue with light showers.
A fresh cyclonic circulation is seen over northwest Bay of Bengal and a trough is seen extending from this system upto the low pressure area along the East Coast. This further enhance the rain activity along the coast.
Meanwhile on the western side, the well-marked low pressure area in Arabian Sea has intensified into a Depression. The system is likely to gain more strength but it has the moved far away from the Indian coast.
A cyclonic circulation over the region is now marked over east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. This will give light showers over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Remaining parts of the country including Northeast and North India will remain mostly dry.
