Weather Forecast for Oct 8: Rain in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata; Delhi to remain dry

A trough is extending from North Bay of Bengal up to east central Arabian Sea across Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. A cyclonic circulation is seen over North Coastal Odisha and adjoining areas. Another circulation is over North Telangana, from which a north-south trough is extending up to North Tamil Nadu. A third cyclonic circulation can be marked over South Konkan and adjoining Kerala Coast. With these multiple weather systems, moderate rain with isolated heavy spells are expected over Odisha, Vidarbha, Marathwada and South Konkan. Rains are likely to pick up pace over Telangana.

Meanwhile, light to moderate showers may occur over North Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and rest of Konkan. Light rain is also possible over Kerala, parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Southeast Gujarat, East Madhya Pradesh and rest of Chhattisgarh.

Coming to East and Northeast region; Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand will record scattered rains, while Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh will witness light rains. Northeastern states will see light rains with a few moderate intensity showers.

Moving North, the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will witness clear sky with pleasant weather. Isolated activity cannot be ruled out over parts of North Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, northwestern plains will continue to reel under dry and warm weather.

Talking about the weather conditions across major cities of India; Delhi and Lucknow will continue to see dry and warm weather, while Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai would record light to moderate rains.
