Weather Forecast for Oct 7: Rain in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata; Dry weather in Delhi, Lucknow

A feeble low pressure area can be marked over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha. A trough is extending from this system up to east central Arabian Sea across Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Karnataka. With this, moderate rain is possible over Odisha, South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Meanwhile, remaining parts of Maharashtra would record light rains. Light rain is also possible over North Chhattisgarh, south as well as western parts of Madhya Pradesh and East Gujarat.

A cyclonic circulation is over Telangana and a north-south trough extends from this system up to South Tamil Nadu. In wake of this, moderate rain is likely over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu and North Karnataka.

Coming to East and Northeast region; light to moderate rains are possible over coastal areas of Gangetic West Bengal, whereas scattered light rains can occur over northeastern states, rest of West Bengal, Jharkhand and South Bihar.

Moving North, the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will witness clear sky with little warm days. Isolated activity cannot be ruled out over parts of North Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, northwestern plains will continue to reel under dry weather, with above normal maximum temperatures.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Talking about the weather conditions across major cities of India; Delhi and Lucknow will continue to see dry weather, while Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai would record light to moderate rains. Meanwhile, moderate rains are likely over Bengaluru whereas Mumbai will see light spells.
