Weather Forecast for Oct 6: Rain in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai; Delhi and Mumbai to remain dry

A Western Disturbance is persisting over North Jammu and Kashmir and is likely to move away eastwards. Due to absence of any significant weather system, dry and sunny weather will prevail over entire Northwest India, including the western Himalayas and Delhi.

A cyclonic circulation is persisting over Odisha coast and humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are increasing moisture over East and Northeastern parts of the country. Due to this light to moderate rains may occur over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand and northeastern states. Bihar may also witness light rain at a few places.

The cyclonic circulation which is persisting over Odisha coast is also likely to give moderate rain over many parts of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and at a few places over Southeast Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, scattered light rain may also occur over Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Weather of Gujarat and remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh will be dry and hot.

In South India, a trough is seen running along Coastal Andhra Pradesh and another trough is seen extending from Konkan and Goa to Tamil Nadu across North Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. In wake of these weather systems, good rains are possible over south Konkan and Goa, North Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, parts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. However the intensity of rain will reduce over South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Talking about the major cities of India, Hyderabad will witness moderate rain, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata will witness light rain while, Delhi Mumbai will remain dry.
