Weather Forecast for Oct 4: Rains to continue over Maharashtra, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa

October 3, 2016 5:44 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Maharashtra has received good showers throughout the Monsoon season, well mitigating the rainfall deficiency left over by two back-to-back droughts in 2014 and 2015. And this year, it is a different ball game all together. The state has been witnessing flood like situation now.

The cyclonic circulation over Madhya Maharashtra will move in a northwest direction and will give good rains over north Madhya Maharashtra, West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and South Gujarat. Scattered rains are likely over southeast Rajasthan.

Due to continuous rainfall, temperatures in Maharashtra, Konkan and goa, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Gujarat will be marginally below normal. We expect rains to continue over these areas so temperatures are not expected to rise much.

Scattered light rains with few moderate spells are also expected over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Light rains are likely at few places over eastern parts of the country including Jharkhand, West Bengal and Northeast India. Bihar may receive isolated rains.

Some parts of Northwest India such as West Haryana and Northwest Rajasthan are experiencing reversal of winds. Dry north westerly winds over here will decrease day and night temperatures by a couple of notches.

Subdues rains will be seen over Karnataka, kerala and Tamil Nadu.
