Weather Forecast for Oct 30: Low pressure in Bay to give rain in West Bengal, Odisha, Northeast; Delhi pollution to rise

October 29, 2018 8:46 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Beginning with the low-pressure area churning in west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, we expect light to moderate rains at many places over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Light rains are also likely over few places of Jharkhand and isolated pockets of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya. However, weather of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar would remain dry.

Meanwhile Central India would not see any direct impact of the low-pressure area but winds over the region would be replaced with humid easterly winds. Thus, the weather will continue to be dry over Central India but we can expect marginal drop in day temperatures over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Moving down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal, that would give scattered rains over isolated parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. However, weather of Telangana and Karnataka will be dry. Temperatures might fall marginally over these areas due to the humid winds from Bay of Bengal.

Up in North, a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. This system might give light rain over few places of Jammu and Kashmir but rains would evade Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand that would settle with partly cloudy sky only.

In plains, an Anti-Cyclone is marked over Rajasthan, which would keep the weather of North Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh dry. We do not expect any relief from pollution and in fact, with light winds and low temperatures, air quality is all set to deteriorate further, particularly over Delhi-NCR. Some places might see air quality slipping in severe category as well.
