October 2, 2018 8:05 PM |

Two Cyclonic Circulations, one over Southeast Arabian Sea and the other over Southwest Bay of Bengal continue to persist on both the sides of Peninsular India. A Low-Pressure area over Southeast Arabian Sea will be formed around October 4 and 5, intensifying rains thereon particularly over Kerala and Tamil Nadu by October 5 and 6. Therefore, light to moderate rains will continue over many parts of Kerala and some places of Coastal Karnataka and interior parts of Tamil Nadu.

However, the intensity of rains will see a fall in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but there’s a possibility of few short spells. Whereas, isolated light rains can be expected over Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka.

Moving towards the Central part of the country, an off-shore trough is extending from Maharashtra coast up till Southeast Arabian Sea. This will lead to a marginal increase in rains in Madhya Maharashtra wherein places like Pune and Nashik may also receive rains. Places like Marathwada, Vidarbha and South Chhattisgarh will experience subdued rains.

The weather of Gujarat, South Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will remain hot and sunny with mercury crossing 40- degree mark, leading to quite uncomfortable weather for the habitants of these regions.

This would lead to a possibility of scattered rains in Jammu and Kashmir and isolated rains over Himachal Pradesh and North Punjab. Capital region Delhi, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan will remain warm and dry.

Lastly, in most of Eastern part of the country, weather will remain dry comprising of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and most parts of Odisha. There’s a possibility of isolated rain showers to be experienced in some parts of South Coastal Odisha and one or two moderate spells may occur over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Rains will now reduce over Northeast India.
