Weather Forecast for Oct 24: Rain in Kerala, Tamil Nadu; dry weather in Central and North India

Up in North, a feeble Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and it may give isolated light rain over the state However, weather of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand as well as Northwest plains will remain dry.

Pollution will continue to persist Delhi and NCR, many parts of Punjab and Haryana. A Cyclonic Circulation is over West Rajasthan which will cause light rain over western parts of the state.

In Central India, an Anti-Cyclone is seen over Madhya Pradesh which is why dry and warm weather will persist over most parts. Moreover, many parts of Gujarat will experience hot day conditions and temperature will remain between 39-40 degree-Celsius.

A trough is seen running from Madhya Maharashtra. Therefore, scattered rains are possible over South Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and South Konkan and Goa.

Moving towards eastern part of the country, light rain may occur over some parts of Coastal Odisha. Assam and Meghalaya can witness isolated rains. However, temperature in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will remain in mid 30s with dry weather conditions.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Sri Lanka and its adjoining areas. Also, a Low-Pressure area is over North Andaman Sea and a trough is seen running between these two weather systems. Due to the prevailing weather systems, light to moderate rains may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Island, southern parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Light rain is likely over Coastal Karnataka, North interior Karnataka, parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Rayalaseema and North Tamil Nadu will remain dry and warm.
