Before starting, the team of Skymet Weather would like to wish its viewers a very Happy Vijayadashami.

Coming back to the weather conditions across the country. A Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir and it’s induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Haryana and Punjab. Due to this, scattered rains will persist over Jammu and Kashmir, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may see isolated showers for the next 24 hours. There are also chances of isolated thunderstorm activities over some parts of Haryana and Punjab.

By Friday, the Western Disturbance would move away and rains would vacate the entire region, particularly the plains that would witness dry weather Saturday onward. Cool northerly winds will now start blowing across Northwest India including Delhi-NCR, that might lead to a marginal fall in minimum temperatures.

Talking about the pollution in Delhi, air quality is all set to deteriorate further on account of light winds and moisture in atmosphere. However, major impact would come from burning of effigies and continuous crop burning in neighbouring areas of Punjab and Haryana.

Moving to Central India, an Anti-cyclone is persisting over parts of Madhya Pradesh. Thus, dry weather conditions would prevail over Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Days would continue to be hot with maximums settling in the range of 35-37 degree-Celsius.

But, due to a trough around Konkan & Goa, we can expect scattered light to moderate rain to continue over parts of Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on Friday and Saturday.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas along with another Cyclonic Circulation over South-central Bay of Bengal. A trough is also seen running from this system up to Lakshadweep Islands.

Thus, we can expect moderate rains with one or two heavy spells over parts of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Whereas, isolated rains will be witnessed over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North interior Karnataka on Friday as well as on Saturday. Bengaluru and Chennai may also receive moderate rains.

Up in East, a Cyclonic Circulation is marked over East Assam, which might give some rain over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya till Saturday. South Coastal Odisha may witness isolated light rains on Friday.

However, weather of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal will remain dry and warm.
