October 17, 2016 6:01 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Peninsular part of the country is the only region to witness good rains at present. The cyclonic circulation persists over Lakshadweep area. It may bring scattered rains over this region along with Kerala.

A trough is extending from Tamil Nadu to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Thus, we expect fairly widespread rains over this area. Weather in rest of south Peninsula will remain dry.

A feeble cyclonic circulation can be seen over Tripura and due to this scattered light rains are expected over Mizoram and Tripura. Other parts of the northeastern states will remain almost dry.

The anti-cyclone over Gujarat will bring moist winds from the Arabian Sea. Generally, when warm and moist winds travel on a cooler surface it brings blankets of fog. Therefore, coastal areas of Gujarat may witness a foggy Tuesday morning.

Dry northwesterly winds will continue over the entire Northwest, Central and eastern parts of the country. Leading to warm and dry weather conditions with clear skies. We do not expect much change in temperatures for at least another two days or so.
