Pollution in Delhi has already made a comeback, with air quality worsening day by day. In fact, Delhi is now bracing for severe pollution in the coming days. According to weathermen, weather conditions are conducive for deteriorating air quality further.

Presently also a Western Disturbance is marked over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation is over Punjab. While, the system would give light to moderate rains with isolated snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Uttarakhand and North Punjab would also see isolated rains. However, northern plains including Delhi would remain dry and warm, but the system would slowdown the wind speed and would increase the humidity over the plains, thereby resulting in increase in pollution.

Moving to South India, at present, it is the only region in the country to witness rains. A cyclonic circulation is marked over Southeast Arabian Sea off Karnataka Coast and a trough is extending from this system up to Interior Tamil Nadu. Thus, we expect light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells over South Karnataka, Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Bengaluru and Chennai would too see light spells.

Meanwhile, scattered light showers are likely in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Telangana with isolated activities in North Karnataka.

Further in Central India, an anti-cyclone is over Southwest Madhya Pradesh. With this, weather would continue to remain dry and warm. Gujarat and West Rajasthan would have maximums in higher 30s.

Finally on the eastern side, a feeble trough is extending across Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram. Thus, light rains are likely in Northeastern states along with Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Else, weather would remain dry over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha.
