Weather Forecast for Oct 13: Cyclone Titli weakens into well marked Low-Pressure Area, rains in Kolkata, West Bengal, Northeast

The Cyclone Titli has now weakened into a well-marked Low-Pressure Area and currently lies over Gangetic West Bengal. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata will experience light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.

Light rains with one or two moderate spells are also possible over rest of the Northeast India and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. However, Bihar and Jharkhand will experience rains over isolated areas.

In South, a trough is seen extending along the East Coast up till Tamil Nadu and a Cyclonic Circulation is also seen over Southeast Arabian Sea, therefore we expect light to moderate rains at few places of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala and at isolated places over Telangana and Coastal Karnataka. But Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka will almost remain dry.

Coming to central parts of country, light rains are expected over few places of Chhattisgarh. But, weather of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will remain dry and warm. In fact, isolated pockets of Gujarat will experience maximums crossing 40 degree-Celsius.

Up in the north, a fresh Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. This weather system might give rains in isolated pockets of Jammu and Kashmir. Weather of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and northwestern plains will be dry.

Sky will be clear in most parts of northwestern plains of North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. These states will have maximums in early 30s while minimums will be below 20 degree- Celsius. Thereby, nights will be cool and pleasant and people could start witnessing nip in the air during the early mornings.
