Weather Forecast for Oct 1: Heavy rain in Kerala, Tamil Nadu to continue, rest of the country to remain almost dry

The feeble Western Disturbance is now seen moving away. Thus, no major activity is to be seen over the hills of North India.

Meanwhile, conditions have become more favorable for further withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from remaining parts of Rajasthan, northern plains of the country and Gujarat soon. Dry weather with comfortable nights can be experienced over the region. However, some parts of Rajasthan may experience temperature over 40° C.

Similar, weather will be experienced in the North, Central and Western parts of the country.

The major highlight is again on the Southern parts of the country as an embedded Cyclonic Circulation is over Sri Lanka and Southwest Bay of Bengal with a trough extending from this circulation across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka up till East-central Arabian Sea.

Heavy rains accompanied with thunderstorms are very likely over isolated parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal and interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

The west coast will also experience thunderstorm with lightning in some parts of Konkan & Goa and isolated parts of Madhya Maharashtra.

Coming towards the eastern part of the country, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh which would bring light to moderate rains in some parts of northeastern states, adjoining Sub Himalayan West Bengal Sikkim and the foothills of Bihar.
