The much needed relief from incessant rains likely in Tamil Nadu and Chennai. The flood situation will improve considerably as mainly sunny weather is likely till Friday. Relief operations could be carried out smoothly at least for next 48 hours in Chennai. But this relief could be short lived. All thanks to a fresh easterly wave which would hit the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu by November 28. At present, most parts of the country are witnessing minimal weather activity.
We can see a trough across the Andaman Sea. Under its influence, a low pressure area will develop by Thursday. This weather system could strike the East Coast over the coming weekend.
The trough extending up to South Gujarat Coast has become insignificant now. Mainly dry weather is likely in the Southern Peninsula during next 2 days. Isolated pockets in South Maharashtra coast could receive light rainfall due to local developments. Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan-Goa, Andhra Pradesh will remain mainly dry.
The cyclonic circulation over central Rajasthan could be seen in the lower levels. The Western Disturbance could bring some rain and snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Northwestern plains will have partly cloudy skies.
Shallow fog may be observed in the plains of west Uttar Pradesh and parts of Northeast India. Entire Central India, East and Northeastern parts will remain mainly dry.
Temperatures have risen a bit in the northern plains and will maintain levels. No significant deviation likely both in maximum and minimum temperatures for the next couple of days. In rest of the country, temperatures will remain near normal average.
