Northeast Monsoon remains active over Peninsular India. Rain activity is expected to increase once again in Coastal Tamil Nadu on account of a trough extending from Sri Lanka Coast up to southwest Bay of Bengal.
On Sunday, moderate to heavy showers are likely to lash Coastal Tamil Nadu and South coastal Andhra Pradesh. While scattered light showers are expected over interiors of Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema.
On western side, the low pressure area in southeast and east-central Arabian Sea has moved away from the Indian coast. However, it will continue to give rain over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka on Sunday but with reduced intensity.
A trough is also extending from this system up to south coastal Gujarat. Accordingly, light to moderate rain is likely over Coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai on Sunday. Parts of Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Marathwada may witness good thundershower activity.
Gujarat can also receive some isolated showers.
A fresh Western Disturbance seen as an upper air system is approaching hills of North India. At present, it is marked over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. With this, higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir will receive isolated rain and snow during next 24 hours.
The weather system will also arrest the fall of minimum temperatures across the northwestern plains including Delhi.
However, Central India is expected to witness further drop in minimum temperatures by one or two degrees.
Meanwhile, Northeast India will continue to witness moderate to dense fog which will keep temperatures below normal.
