A week of downpour in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu has brought immense damage in the state. The intensity of rainfall has finally reduced. People here will finally breathe a sigh of relief now. Nevertheless, we can still expect some light showers in Chennai and rest of Tamil Nadu.

The well-marked low in the Bay of Bengal has weakened into a low pressure area and moved slightly northeastwards. It is now lying over Andhra Coast and adjoining areas. It will continue to bring fairly widespread moderate to heavy showers over the region till Thursday.

There is another cyclonic circulation over Southeast Arabian Sea off Kerala coast. The trough from the system is extending up to the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. Accordingly, we can expect scattered light to moderate showers over Kerala, South Interior Karnataka Rayalaseema and interiors of Tamil Nadu.

Expect clear blue skies and pleasant weather in Central parts of the country.

In the Northeastern states, East Uttar Pradesh and parts of Bihar you might see moderate to dense fog during early morning hours.

The Western Disturbance as an upper air system over North Pakistan will not have any impact on the Indian region.

Cool and dry northwesterly winds blowing over North and Central India will lead to further drop in temperatures by 2°C to 3°C. Minimums have already come down to single digit in Punjab and Haryana. In Delhi night temperatures are around 11°C at present. Maximums could also witness marginal drop in the plains of North India.
