The deep depression in the Bay of Bengal is showing signs of intensifying into a cyclone and is severely affecting Tamil Nadu. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, including Chennai on Tuesday. After hitting the coast, it is likely to become a low pressure area again. Going in northwest direction, the weather system is expected to head towards Karnataka. Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are likely to be most hit by this weather system after 24 hours. As the system moves closer to Karnataka, the affect is likely to diminish over Tamil Nadu.

Moving towards North India, the western disturbance persistent over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir is likely to give rain and snow over J&K and Himachal Pradesh. Scattered rainfall is likely over parts of Uttarakhand.

As the western disturbance is influencing weather over plains of North India, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab have started to witness chilly weather with light haze in the morning.

The anti-cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan is resulting in clear sky and pleasant weather over Rajasthan, Gujarat and entire Madhya Pradesh. While, East and Northeast India will also witness least weather conditions.
