The nightmare has come true, with dense layer engulfing Delhi NCR on Monday. The situation is likely to worsen further with air quality to remain in severe category. With Diwali arriving, pollution in Delhi will now be on its peak.

Talking about the hills of North India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has now moved away, paving way for dry weather over the hills. Winter chill will continue to grip the region with minimum temperatures likely to drop further in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, dry and cold north westerlies would blow across the northern plains, thus, we expect further drop in day and night temperatures across Haryana, Punjab and Delhi-NCR.

The next region which is presently witnessing active weather conditions is South India. All thanks to the low-pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka and South Tamil Nadu coast. With this, light to moderate rains with heavy spells are likely over South Tamil Nadu, particularly over coastal districts.

Whereas, isolated rains would be possible over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over East Assam, that would give scattered light rains with few moderate spells over Assam and Meghalaya. Isolated rains are expected over Sikkim.

However, weather over entire eastern states would be dry, with marginal drop in day and night temperatures.

Central India would too continue with dry weather. However, a trough is running from Madhya Maharashtra up till Coastal Karnataka. Thus, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains at few places over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, leading to marginal drop in day temperatures.
