Low pressure persists over Southwest Bay and adjoining Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu coast. It will continue to give moderate to heavy rains over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu for at least next 24 to 36 hours.
Chennai will also continue to witness moderate to heavy rainfall activity during the same time frame which will result in worsening of the flood situation.

South Coastal Andhra Pradesh will also witness good showers while scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells will occur over Interior Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala. States of Karnataka, Telangana and remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh will remain dry.
East and Northeast, dry weather conditions will persist over the region. Shallow fog will occur over isolated pockets of Odisha and Meghalaya. Mist and haze is possible over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

Meanwhile Central India will witness dry weather with Gujarat and West Rajasthan observing warm and sunny days. Nights will be cool with temperatures between 14 and 17 degrees.
North India, weather will remain dry over both the plains as well as the hilly states. Fog is likely over Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Delhi will observe smoke haze with mist during morning hours. Thus, pollution levels will remain high.
