Depression over central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal will continue to move in northwest direction and is likely to intensify into a deep depression anytime soon. With this, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on Friday. Few places may record some heavy showers as well. However, with system moving away, rains will now reduce over Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Meanwhile, Kerala will continue with light to moderate rains. This system is also likely to give scattered rain in Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata and northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
A feeble cyclonic circulation is also seen over Vidarbha region but with the dry winds blowing over North and Central India, we do not expect this system to give any weather activity.
Meanwhile, smoke, haze and smog will continue to engulf several parts of the northern plains including Delhi-NCR. No relief is likely from the high pollution levels as winds are still very light.
