A cyclonic circulation is persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal near Sri Lankan Coast. Also, a trough is extending from Lakshadweep Islands to south central Bay of Bengal through this cyclonic circulation. Under the influence of these two systems, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers are expected over South Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands may see scattered showers.
Coming to Central India, parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, interior Odisha and Jharkhand are witnessing cold wave conditions. We expect minimum temperatures to drop further over these areas.
Up in North India, a fresh Western disturbance is likely to approach Jammu & Kashmir which will bring light rain and snow at few places over the state. Due to the induced cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining areas, minimum temperatures over the northwest plains of India including Delhi-NCR are expected to increase marginally. Partly cloudy sky is likely to persist over many parts of Punjab but rain shall not be expected.
