Weather Forecast for Nov 16: Rain in Kolkata, West Bengal, Odisha; Delhi Pollution to improve

The well marked low pressure area is likely to intensify into a depression and move towards Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining North Odisha coast. The system will start weakening after 24 hours. Another cyclonic circulation can be seen over Southwest Bay of Bengal and a trough is extending from Assam to South Tamil Nadu coast.

With this, moderate to heavy rains are expected over North Odisha and adjoining West Bengal. Rainfall is expected to increase over Northeast India and Bangladesh with moderate showers over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Most parts of Gangetic West Bengal will witness light to moderate rains. Light showers are also expected over Jharkhand, South Bihar, Chhattisgarh adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Also isolated pockets of East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha may see light rains.

Down south, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Lakshadweep adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. Thus, light to moderate rains are expected over Tamil Nadu, with light showers over Kerala and adjoining South Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Chennai may receive light rains during this period.

Coming to North India, a Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. A feeble induced cyclonic circulation is also over Punjab. Thus, light rains are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, North Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and North Punjab. Light snow may also appear over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Dry weather will persist over plains of North India. Talking about Delhi, relief is in sight from the prevailing pollution levels. Haziness will also improve.
