A fresh western disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir, which is likely to give scattered snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while the remaining parts of state and adjoining areas of Punjab may see some light rains.

In wake of this, maximum temperatures will drop significantly over these areas. The system has also changed the winds pattern to humid southwesterly and with we can expect slight increase in the minimum temperatures across North India.

Mist and haze will also rise over the northern plains, which may also increase pollution levels, particularly over Delhi NCR over the weekend.

Meanwhile in Northeastern region, the cyclonic circulation over East Bangladesh and Tripura continues to persist, giving light showers over parts of Northeast India.

Down south, the two cyclonic circulations each over Lakshadweep region and southeast Bay of Bengal are also persisting and a trough can be seen running between both the systems. With this, light rains and thundershowers are expected over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, South Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep Islands.

Meanwhile Central India will continue with dry weather conditions, with minimum temperatures across Maharashtra, Telangana and Southeast Madhya Pradesh settling below normal due the cold winds blowing from north.
