Weather Forecast for May 9: Rain in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata; heatwave in Rajasthan

A fresh Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, scattered rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoin Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. A trough is extending from this system up to Bihar across Uttar Pradesh. With this, scattered rain, and thundershowers are expected over few places of Punjab. Haryana, Delhi and West UP may also receive some thundershower and thunderstorm activity.

Along with this, isolated dust storm with thunderstorm may occur over East and central Rajasthan. Heatwave conditions will persist over west Rajasthan and MP. But temperatures may drop marginally over adjoining areas.

Coming to Central India, a trough extending across Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Telangana. Scattered light to moderate rains are expected over Madhya Pradesh and parts of Vidarbha.

South, a trough is seen over Telangana and Interior Karnataka. Thus, rain will continue over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Bengaluru and Hyderabad will also witness some rains during the next 24 hours.

Moving on to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is over Assam and adjoining areas. Scattered rain is expected over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and few parts of Northeast India. Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata may also receive isolated rains along with few pockets of Coastal Odisha.
