Much have been talked about the severe dust storm and thunderstorm alert over North India. However, contrary to IMD and Accuweather, Skymet Weather maintained its stand that North India was expected to witness dust storm and thunder storm of mild to moderate intensity only. And similar was case in the last 2-3 days.
Further also, we would like to inform that no major dust storm or thunderstorm is likely to lash North India now. There may be dust raising winds and isolated thunderstorm activities over few parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh but there is absolutely no need to panic!

Meanwhile, the northern hills of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are expected to continue with light to moderate rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours. All thanks to the persisting Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir. The weather over the national capital Delhi-NCR would now go dry and warm, with partly cloudy conditions. Similarly, the city of Nawabs, Lucknow and the pink city of Jaipur would also remain warm with partly cloudy sky conditions.
Moving further to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation can be seen over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining Bihar and Jharkhand. Thus, good rain and thundershowers will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and the northeastern states. Meanwhile, isolated rains are also expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. These rains may also be accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning strikes. Squally winds are also expected across northeastern states. Kolkata will remain dry and would witness warm and humid weather conditions, with would partly cloudy sky. Patna would see hot day will, with partly cloudy sky.
Coming to central parts of the country, the weather will be hot and dry and temperatures will remain above the 40 degree mark over most parts. Moreover, heatwave conditions will persist over isolated pockets of South Rajasthan and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. The entertainment city of the country, Mumbai is expected to witness a warm and humid day along with clear sky conditions.

Finally in South Peninsula, a north-south trough is running from East India up to Kerala across Telangana and South Interior Karnataka. Also, a cyclonic circulation can be seen over South of Kerala. With these weather systems, the intensity of rain and thundershowers may intensify over South Karnataka and Kerala. Scattered rains are expected to continue over Interior Tamil Nadu, while isolated showers may occur over Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Chennai will see a warm and humid day, with partly cloudy sky. Bengaluru might see light rain and thundershowers over Bengaluru but weather will be warm and humid. Meanwhile, Hyderbad would battle hot weather conditions.
