Weather Forecast for May 8: Rain in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru

North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh are all set to witness another spell of dust storm, and thunderstorm during the next 24 hours along with rains over the hilly states. They are expected to record rain and thundershowers activities that would also be accompanied by dust storm, squally winds, thunderstorm and lightning strikes. In fact, intense weather may be seen in some parts which means residents should exercise some caution.

The weather activity would be due to the presence of a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and its associated induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana and Punjab.

There are prospects of rain and thundershowers along with dust storm over the national capital Delhi-NCR. The city of Nawabs, Lucknow would remain warm and humid, with chances of rain. The pink city, Jaipur is expected to witness light to moderate rain, with partly cloudy sky, but the weather will remain hot.

Moving further to East and Northeast India, an upper air cyclonic circulation can be seen over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area. Also, a trough is extending from this system up to Manipur. Thus, light to moderate rain and thundershowers, with few heavy spells are expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and the northeastern states.

The city of Kolkata will witness warm and humid weather conditions. Similar weather is likely over Patna.

Coming to central parts of the country, a trough is extending from Central Madhya Pradesh up to South Interior Karnataka. Hence, isolated areas of Madhya Pradesh may receive dust storm and thundershower activities. Meanwhile, heatwave conditions will persist over isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, West and Southeast Rajasthan and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

The entertainment city of the country, Mumbai is expected to witness a warm and humid day along with clear sky conditions.

Finally in South Peninsula, due to the presence of north-south trough, light to moderate rains are expected to continue over many places of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka.

The city of Chennai will see a warm and humid day, with partly cloudy sky. The sky would remain partly cloudy, with rain and thundershowers over Bengaluru. There are possibilities of light rain over Hyderabad, but the weather will remain hot.
