Monsoon 2017 has made an onset over Kerala. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) is presently passing through Kochi, Tondi, Aizwal, Kohima and Deomali. All thanks to the severe cyclone Mora. Mora will continue to give heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over northeastern states during the next 24 hours, reducing thereafter.
A cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan and a trough is extending from this system up to West Bengal across another cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh.
With this, scattered rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile in plains, dust storm and thundershower activities will once again commence over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi/NCR and some parts of North Rajasthan and West and East Uttar Pradesh. South east Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh may record scattered rainfall activity
Another trough is seen running from the circulation over Uttar Pradesh till Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Chhattisgarh. Due to this trough along with Cyclone Mora, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha may also record good rain and thundershower activities during the next 24 hours.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Another trough is seen running along the west coast, which is likely to give good Monsoon over Kerala, coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, south Gujarat and Lakshadweep Islands.
Interior parts of South India will continue to remain dry but isolated thundery activities over this region cannot be ruled out.
