Southwest Monsoon has advanced further in some parts of Comorin region, Southeast and Southwest Bay of Bengal. All thanks to the well marked low pressure over south central Bay of Bengal which is likely to move northwards and may intensify further during next 24 hours.
A trough is likely to develop along the West Coast. Due to moist westerly winds blowing across the region, rain and thundershowers with few moderate spells are likely over Kerala, southern and coastal parts of Karnataka. While rainfall is likely to reduce over Tamil Nadu.
Up in North India, the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir is moving away. However, rain and thundershowers are expected at few places over the state, and scattered places over Himachal Pradesh and its neighboring state, Uttarakhand. Its induced cyclonic circulation can be marked over South Punjab and adjoining area. A trough is also extending from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, rain and thundershowers are likely at few places over Delhi, Haryana, extreme North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Temperatures will register a drop by 2 to 3 degrees over the region.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
A cyclonic circulation is seen over West Uttar Pradesh and a trough is extending from this system up to Gangetic West Bengal. This will give rain and thundershowers at many places over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and few places over East Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, pre-Monsoon showers will continue over northeastern states. Heavy falls cannot be ruled out over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Another trough is extending from West Uttar Pradesh to South Chhattisgarh. In wake of this, rain and thundershowers are expected over parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. Temperatures may drop over the region. Isolated activity is also likely over Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra.
