Weather Forecast for May 25: Rain in Kashmir, Himachal; hot in Delhi, Haryana

Beginning with the weather over North India a fresh Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan. Therefore, we expect isolated light rains over the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

However, weather of Uttarakhand is expected to remain partly cloudy. Similarly, northern plains will also continue to witness dry and hot weather conditions.

Moving to the weather over Central India dry and hot winds from Pakistan are blowing over many parts of Central India. Therefore, heatwave conditions will persist over Rajasthan, North Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and parts of Vidarbha. But due to a north-south trough passing through Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha we expect isolated thunderstorm or thundershower over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.

Further in East and Northeast India a trough is seen running from East Uttar Pradesh to Tripura. A cyclonic circulation is also persisting over eastern parts of Assam. Thus, light to moderate rains with few heavy spells are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rest all the other northeastern states will witness light to moderate rains. Isolated rains are also possible over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and East Jharkhand.

Lastly in South India as the north-south trough is passing through Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. Scattered rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Costal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rains may also occur over Telangana. Further, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal. Therefore, we expect good rains to occur over Karnataka and Kerala.
