Weather Forecast for May 22: Rain in Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala; Dry in Delhi, Mumbai

Beginning with the weather over North India the Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir that is likely to give scattered light rain activities over Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Himachal Pradesh. However, weather of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh would be dry and hot. With this, day temperatures are expected to increase over the northwestern plains.

Moving to the weather in East and Northeast India a trough is running from Madhya Pradesh to Tripura across Bihar and West Bengal. Therefore, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershower over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and most parts of Northeast India.

Isolated thunderstorm and thundershowers may occur over Jharkhand and Odisha. Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will remain dry and warm.

Further in Central India this trough is further extending from Madhya Pradesh to South Interior Karnataka across Maharashtra. Thus, we expect isolated thunderstorm and thundershower activities over South Chhattisgarh and parts of Vidarbha during the next 24-48 hours. Heatwave conditions will continue over Vidarbha, parts of Madhya Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan.

Not only this, We expect light to moderate rains with few heavy spells to occur over South Karnataka. Kerala and Interior Tamil Nadu may also receive few spells of thundershowers. Isolated activities over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also cannot be ruled out.
