Weather Forecast for May 22: Low Pressure likely to form in Bay; Rain in Delhi, Bengaluru

A cyclonic circulation is marked over Southeast Bay of Bengal which is likely to intensify into a low pressure within 48 hours.

Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Rayalaseema, extending up to Tamil Nadu Coast. With this, scattered to moderate rain, thundershowers are likely over Kerala, adjoining Tamil Nadu, South Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Chennai is expected to see marginal drop in temperatures.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather will continue over Telangana with isolated activity over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Turning to east and northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is over Northeast Bihar and a trough is extending from this system up to Odisha Coast across Jharkhand. This will bring rain along with gusty winds and hailstorms over the region. Meanwhile, northeastern states will continue to record light to moderate rains. Few stations may also see some heavy spells.

Moving to Central India, the weather will remain hot and dry. Heatwave conditions will continue its grip over isolated stations of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

To begin with North India, the Western Disturbance continues to persist over North Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan. Thanks to this, scattered rain and thundershowers will continue over the northern hills. Uttarakhand may see some hailstorm activity.

Its induced cyclonic circulation can now be marked over interior parts of Punjab. In wake of this, dust storms and thundershowers are likely over the northwestern plains Delhi and NCR. Moreover, the region may see drop in temperatures.
