After making landfall over Bangladesh coast, the cyclonic storm Roanu has weakened significantly. It is presently seen as well-marked low pressure area lying near Manipur and Mizoram region. It will continue losing the strength but will bring heavy to very heavy rain and thundershowers over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on Sunday. While light to moderate showers are likely over Assam and Meghalaya.
A trough can be seen extending from this system up to east Uttar Pradesh across North Bihar. Accordingly light rain and thundershowers are likely over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and few parts of west Bengal including Kolkata on Sunday.
Moving down south, hot and humid weather has made a comeback over Peninsular India in absence of any significant weather. However, possibility of isolated light rain over Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu cannot be ruled out.
Meanwhile, heatwave continues to engulf entire Northwest and Central India, particularly Rajasthan. Temperatures over most parts of the regions are settling between 42°C and 50°C.
Moreover, we do not expect any change in the temperature profile for next 2-3 days. However, isolated dust storm and thunderstorm is likely over Punjab and Haryana but it will fail to bring any relief from the heatwave.
