Weather Forecast for May 19: Rain in Kerala, Karnataka, dust storm in Delhi, Haryana

Beginning with the weather over North India a Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir that would give scattered light rains and thundershower over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated light rains are also likely over Uttarakhand.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab that would bring isolated light rain over North Punjab. Meanwhile, dust storm and thunderstorm activities are possible at a few places over North Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Moving to the weather in East and Northeast India a cyclonic circulation is seen over Bihar and a trough is extending up to North Bay of Bengal. Therefore, we expect scattered light to moderate rains over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeastern states. In fact, isolated activities over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha also cannot be ruled out. Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will observe dry weather conditions.

Further in Central India a trough is seen extending from Bihar to Interior Karnataka cross Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Thus isolated rain may occur over Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. However, heatwave will prevail in parts of Vidarbha, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and South and West Rajasthan.

Lastly in South India, this trough would continue to give good rains over Karnataka and Kerala. Meanwhile, Interior Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh will also observe scattered activities. In fact, isolated activity cannot be ruled out over Telangana including Hyderabad.
