Weather Forecast for May 18: Rain in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad; dust storm in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab

A Western Disturbance is currently over North Pakistan. With this, scattered rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

An induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Due to this, isolated dust storm activity is expected over Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan. Delhi may also witness isolated dust storm activity.

Coming to Central India, hot and dry weather will persist over most parts. Gujarat and Maharashtra are likely to remain dry with temperatures likely to witness an increase.

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is currently marked over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. A trough is extending from this system up to Arunachal Pradesh. Another cyclonic circulation is over North Odisha. Another trough is also running across this system.

With this, parts of Bihar will witness good rains with the possibility of lightning strikes.

Central West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand may also witness moderate spells of rain. Kolkata is likely to observe good rainfall activity. Scattered rains will also continue over Northeast India.

Coming to South India, a trough is running along the coast due to which isolated rains will occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Good rains are expected over North Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and adjoining Kerala.

Good rains are likely over Bengaluru, with scattered thunderstorm and rain likely over Hyderabad.
