Weather Forecast for May 15: Monsoon 2017 makes early onset over Andaman and Nicobar islands

The long awaited Southwest Monsoon has finally arrived almost a week before its scheduled date over Nicobar Islands, parts of Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

The persisting cyclonic circulation over Andaman Sea will become a low pressure soon making way for the further advancement of Monsoon over more parts of the Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Now. Let us take a look at the weather conditions prevailing across the country.

A Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. This system is expected to give scattered rains over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is over the Pakistan region which will give isolated dust storm over North Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Dry weather will persist over rest of Northwest Plains.

Coming to east and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is over North Bangladesh. A trough is extending up to Northwest Bay of Bengal. With this, good rains are likely over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya.

Scattered rains are likely over rest of Northeast India along with a few parts of Odisha.

Coming to Central India, a feeble trough is over Konkan and Goa which will give scattered rains over Madhya Maharashtra.

Coming to South India, a cyclonic circulation is over North Interior Karnataka and a trough is extending from this system up to Comorin region.

With this, rainfall is expected over many parts of Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru along with Kerala. Interior Tamil Nadu may witness scattered rains.
