Weather Forecast for May 14: Monsoon 2017 arrival gets closer as low pressure likely in Andaman Sea

he days for the arrival of Southwest Monsoon over Andaman and Nicobar Islands are getting nearer as the cyclonic circulation over Andaman Sea has moved north northwestwards. The system is likely to become a low-pressure area soon enough. With this, weather conditions have become conducive for the onset of Monsoon. Also, moderate to heavy rains are likely over parts of the Islands.

The prevailing Western Disturbance is now moving away. Its induced cyclonic circulation is over North Pakistan region. With this, isolated rains may continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Plains of North India including Delhi will remain hot and dry with marginal increase in temperatures.

Coming to Central India, dry weather will persist over most parts with isolated rains over Chhattisgarh due to the persisting trough.

East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation persists over North Bihar and adjoining West Bengal. A trough is also extending up to Assam. With this, rain and thundershowers are likely over Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. Northeast India including Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh may also witness moderate to heavy rains.

Coming to South India, a cyclonic circulation persists over Telangana region. A trough is also extending up to Kerala. With this, light rains are expected over Telangana and Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Meanwhile, good showers are expected over the state of Kerala.
