To start with the weather over Northwest, light to moderate rain and thundershowers will continue over parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Similar weather activity is likely at isolated parts of North Punjab.

This weather activity would be due to a fresh Western Disturbance approaching the Western Himalayan Region. However, northwestern plains will witness dry and hot weather conditions in the wake of northwesterly winds.
Coming to central parts of the country, the weather will be hot and dry over most parts of the region. Moreover, heatwave conditions will persist over many places of Vidarbha region. In fact, we expect isolated pockets of Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to be under the ambit of heatwave conditions.
Moving further to East and Northeast India, a trough is extending from Bihar up to Bangladesh across Jharkhand and West Bengal. Thus, scattered rain will occur over parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. The intensity of rain is likely to be subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Meanwhile, isolated rains are also expected over Odisha.

Finally in South Peninsula, a trough is running from North Chhattisgarh up to South Interior Karnataka across Telangana. With this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over South Karnataka, Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
