May 11, 2016 4:35 PM |

We are in the peak of pre-Monsoon season now. A good Monsoon system is brewing in the Bay of Bengal. It will possibly usher in Southwest Monsoon over the Bay islands. We have wait and watch if it intensifies into a storm or not.

A fresh Western Disturbance can be seen over North Pakistan. The induced cyclonic circulation can be seen over Punjab and adjoining areas. The trough from this system is moving across the Indo-Gangetic plains joining the cyclonic circulation over Bihar and the weather system in Northeast India.

In view of these weather systems North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh will see dust storm activities followed by thundershowers. The northern hills will also continue to have rain and thundershowers. Temperatures will remain below normal over this region.

Rain and thundershowers will continue over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. In Northeast India, rain intensity will start showing signs of increasing from tomorrow onwards. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal will also receive pre-Monsoon activities tomorrow.

The wind discontinuity continues to run from Marathwada to down south in Tamil Nadu. Scattered places in Kerala will receive good rains. Isolated rains likely in Maharashtra, Karnataka and interiors of Tamil Nadu. A rainy day likely for places like Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Gadag, Gulbarga and Bijapur. Even Mysore and Bangalore could receive some rains.
